Responsible Gambling at Lizaro: The Tools First, Then the Signs, Then the Help

Two things Lizaro names can stop play when a player asks: a time-out through the support team, and self-exclusion by e-mail to support, after which the account is closed as soon as practicable. Beyond those, the control that works every day is a budget the player sets before the first deposit. This page sets the tools out in the order a player would use them, and ends with the free British help lines.

The tools Lizaro names

A time-out is arranged by contacting the support team, whose live chat is open 24/7. For self-exclusion, the request goes to the support team by e-mail and the account is then closed as soon as practicable. Lizaro also puts the duty on the player: it remains the player’s sole responsibility to ensure that no further accounts are opened, which applies directly to anyone who has asked for a pause.
Age is part of the same framework. Lizaro’s rules prohibit registration by anyone under 18 and cancel winnings gained by underage players, and the minimum gambling age in Great Britain is 18 as well.

Limits you set yourself

Everyday limits begin with the player’s own budget. Three amounts used across this site show how a budget turns into sessions.

Weekly budgetFive sessions ofSpin size for 100 spinsUntouched after one lost session
€50 (£42.38)€10 (£8.48)€0.10€40 (£33.91)
€200 (£169.53)€40 (£33.91)€0.40€160 (£135.62)
€330 (£279.72)€66 (£55.94)€0.66€264 (£223.77)

The rule worth writing down is the sum still left untouched after a bad session. Staking it that same evening turns a planned loss into an unplanned one. Two numbers are enough to write down before logging in: the session budget, such as €40, and the number of spins it buys, such as 100 at €0.40. When the spins are gone, the session is over, whatever the balance shows.

Why a bonus target can push a budget

A welcome bonus adds a number that has to be staked. At x20 on deposit plus bonus, a €50 deposit carries a €2,000 target (about £1,695), a €200 deposit €8,000 (about £6,781) and a €330 deposit €13,200 (about £11,189), each to be reached within 10 days. A target of that size can feel like a debt, and the temptation is to raise the stake or the deposit to get there.
The target is a condition of the bonus and not a condition of the account. A player who sees stakes growing beyond the weekly budget just to satisfy it has a clear reason to stop playing for the bonus and return to the budget. Lizaro’s rules also set a maximum of €100 (about £84.76) for a single bet while a casino bonus is active, and that is a hard ceiling rather than a suggestion.

Warning signs tied to numbers

  • The deposit is larger than the planned weekly figure. A €200 plan that became €330 is a change of 65%.
  • A bonus target, not enjoyment, is deciding the stakes. Staking €1,320 (about £1,118.87) a day to clear €13,200 in 10 days is twice the whole €660 balance every day.
  • A lost session is followed by a second the same evening that is paid for from the remaining weeks.
  • Deposits follow one another within a single session, each larger than the one before.
  • Time or money is being hidden from other people.
  • A second account looks like the answer to a break. Lizaro places that responsibility on the player.

Getting help today

The National Gambling Helpline, run by GamCare, is on 0808 8020 133. The call is free, the line is open 24 hours a day, every day, and the same service is available by live chat. In Wales the number is 0808 2819 265.

A worked week that holds

Take the €200 plan: five sessions of €40 (about £33.91). Session one ends with €15 (about £12.71) left of its €40, and the player stops. Session two is played with its own €40, not with the €15 plus a top-up. If session three is lost entirely, €80 (about £67.81) of the plan remains for sessions four and five, and the week ends there even if the last session also goes.

What stopping early costs

Take the €200 plan again, deposited in one go. A player who stops after session three has staked at most €120 (about £101.72), the own €40 of three sessions, and that is below the €200 deposited. Lizaro’s rule for wagering below the deposit is that winnings may be cancelled and a commission of 10% kept, never less than €0.50 (about £0.42), or 15% when the deposit came by bank card or bank transfer. Stopping is still the right decision when the plan says stop. The practical lesson is to deposit what the plan covers: a €330 deposit for a €200 plan would carry €130 (about £110.19) that the plan never stakes.

What happens to the account during a long break

Two of Lizaro’s rules matter to anyone stepping away without closing the account. The VIP level is lowered automatically to the lowest level after a month of inactivity, and after 180 days without a login a monthly administration fee of €5 (about £4.24) applies. A balance can be taken out before the break: at Level 1 the daily limit is €500 (about £423.82), so a balance of €330 (about £279.72) leaves in one request, and requests are processed within 3 business days. A player who intends the break to be permanent can ask for self-exclusion instead of leaving the account open.
